The Rig Engineer Programme (REP)

As a graduate, Transocean can currently offer you the chance to become part of our exciting Rig Engineering Programme (REP). Transocean’s two year REP programme develops you into a Rig Manager focussed on the operational management of our key drilling assets: our Rigs and our People.

The REP programme consists of two stages. During these stages, you will work offshore along side rig crews, giving you a fundamental understanding of the rig and rig operations.

Stage One – REP One

You will work offshore in the drilling department working as a Roustabout up to Assistant Driller Level. During this period, you will work on an even rotational schedule equivalent to four or two weeks on and four and two weeks off. During your time off, whether it be two or four weeks you will be expected to spend half that time (one or two weeks) completing training and working in the office to gain an early exposure to Rig Management. The course and office assignments are flexible and depend on the dates the courses can be scheduled.

Stage Two – REP Two

During stage two, to broaden your knowledge you will be assigned to various rig departments; for example marine, electrical or subsea, to gain a basic understanding of the functions and scope of the work. You will have the ownership of scheduling your time in each department to fit with major planned maintenance tasks, e.g. engine overhaul or with complex routine operations, such as a rig move.
